Kenya will be represented by 54 athletes in the IAAF World athletics under 20 championships that will be held at Moi International sports Centre Kasarani next year.
This was confirmed by Team Kenya Patron Barnabas Korir who said that the number has been minimized after the Sports Ministry approved a budget of only 64 million shillings, down from the proposed 90 million shillings.
The team of 54 athletes will be selected in April next year. In 2017, Kenya fielded 64 athletes in the U18 event.
The team that will be selected will hope to finish in first position on the medal table like it was during the previous edition that was held in Tampere Finland where Kenya finished first overall with 6 Gold medals, 4 Silver and 1 Bronze medal.
