8 suspected gangsters shot dead in Mukuru slum

Eight suspected thugs where Tuesday night shot dead by the police in Industrial area.

Police also recovered homemade guns and eight rounds of ammunition during the incident.

Confirming the incident Nairobi County Police commander Japheth Koome said officers from Kwa Reuben Police Post got information that about the young men armed with pistols and crude weapons, who were robbing members of the public along Falcon Road.

The undercover officers rushed to the scene, where they were confronted the seven young men. Three of them were shot dead while the rest escaped with gunshot wounds.

Police later found the bodies of two other suspects who had succumbed to gunshot wounds.

However, Mukuru kwa Ruben residents this morning protested the killing of the 8 men by Police denying claims that they were thugs.
