Silale Member of County Assembly in Baringo, Nelson Lotela, has been airlifted to Nairobi for further medical checkup after he was found alive Monday morning at a farm in Sobea area in Nakuru County.
The MCA who was abducted by unknown people on Sunday was found by some villagers in a maize plantation with neck and back injuries and received treatment at Kabarak Health Centre.
Speaking earlier from his hospital bed, Lotela told the press that at around 4PM on Sunday at Chemolingot trading centre in Tiaty Sub-County, four heavily armed men in civilian blocked him and forced him out of his car before bundling him in to a double-cabin vehicle.
According to Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket who is the MCA’s close ally, a Toyota Hilux, bearing a private registration number that blocked Lotela was allegedly occupied by police officers in plain clothes.
Kamket further claimed that the vehicle carrying the MCA was intercepted twice along the Mogotio-Nakuru road blocks but was allowed to proceed with the journey.
Kamket and the MCA were in 2015 charged and later acquitted of conspiracy to commit a felony.
