Harambee Stars head coach Sebastien Migne is targeting to lead Kenya past the group phase of the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations finals set for June 21st – July 19th in Egypt.
While naming the provisional 30 man squad Migne hinted at his desire of guiding Kenya past the group phase for the first time in their six-time appearance at the continental event.
The Coach named among others: Goalkeepers Patrick Matasi and Farouk Shikalo, defenders Brian Mandela and Eric Ouma, midfielders Victor Wanyama, Francis Kahata and Cliffton Miheso while the provisional striking line up includes John Avire, Allan Wanga and Michael Olunga.
Stars are set to depart for France on the 31st of this month where they will hold a 19-day training camp playing two friendly games against Madagascar and Gambia before flying to Egypt on June 19th in time for Pool ‘C’ Matches against Algeria, Tanzania and Senegal.
Meanwhile, Migne also announced the 32 man Harambee Stars squad that will prepare for their 2020, CHAN qualifier against Burundi in August which is set to be played in August 2019.
The winner on aggregate will either face Tanzania or Sudan in the second and final qualifying round of the tournament, set to be held in Ethiopia in January 2020.
Kenya will be looking to make a maiden appearance at the 16-team tournament reserved exclusively for players actively featuring in their respective national championships.
