Air Defense Wing donates 4000 tree seedlings to learning institutions in Ruai

Moi Air Base (MAB) in partnership with Tree and Culture Organization on Thursday launched a tree planting exercise in Ruai, Nairobi County.

MAB was represented by the Air Defense Wing (ADW) who donated 4000 tree seedlings to various learning institutions.

During the launch, the ADR team managed to plant trees at various schools including Josnah Primary School, Ruai Girls High School and Ruai Boys High School.

The team also planted trees along the sewage treatment plant perimeter wall in alignment with the one million trees campaign.

Assistant coordinator Trees and Culture, Phyllis Andambi thanked Kenya Air Force for their partnership and stated that with the support of Nairobi County, their organisation’s initiative is set to grow 1 million new trees as part of the climate change mitigation agenda to curb air pollution in Ruai.

The team from ADW was led by Lieutenant Amos Gikunju with Officers, Service members and representatives from the Trees and Culture Organization also present.
