Alpharama donates Ksh4M to Covid-19 Emergency Fund

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i Monday received Ksh 4m on behalf of the Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund.

The CS received the donation from Alpharama Ltd (members of the South Indian Community), with the contribution set to be used to cushion vulnerable households from the socio-economic impacts of coronavirus pandemic.

This even as the Government Spokesperson Cyrus Oguna said the Government is introducing community policing which will need Kenyans to participate in the campaign dubbed #KomeshaCorona .

The campaign will be rolled out through the Nyumba Kumi initiative where Kenyans will be expected to work together with community health workers, public health officers & multi agency teams that will be deployed to the ground.

Oguna further says it is illegal for anyone to recycle surgical masks and sell them to the public.

He said recycling masks was risky and urged Kenyans to report anyone who is engaging in the business.

The Government has also urged Kenyans to ensure they get credible information on the virus which is available on the Ministry of Health website.
