What’s your favourite place on earth?

Assassin (A): (Laughs) I’ll have to say Pluto. I know it’s not on earth.

Haze (H): Wherever baby girl is but wacha tu tuseme Mombasa. (Let’s just say Mombasa)

What albums/singles are you listening to now other than your own?

A:  Vybz Cartel , Kingston Story

H: Right now I’m listening to a lot of trap but the most recent one I’ve listened to is Drake’s More Life.

What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

A: Jaba/ Miraa (Everyone in the studio erupts in laughter).

H: Good food.


What do you dream about?

A: Mimi kile na dream ni life yangu iwe fiti na nikuwe na future poa. (I dream about having a good life and a bright future.)

H: (Laughs) Lately, I’ve been dreaming about rocking shows alongside some big name international artists. You know both in dancehall and hip hop.

What’s the best thing about being an entertainer?

A: Unaget kumeet new people na unalearn vitu mob. (You get to meet new people and learn a lot of things.)

H: I’m a laid back dude so I really enjoy the flexible hours, you know at your own pace and in your own time. I love the freedom too.

What’s the worst?

H: Not being taken seriously.

A: Wasee kukudharau (People disrespecting you.)

What keeps you up at night?

A: Aii jaba. Mimi silalangi. (Miraa. I don’t sleep.) (Laughter).

H: Kukosa doh. Hii kitu lazima ilipe this year. (Not having money. We have to make money this year.)

If you could travel back in time what era would it be and who would you hang out with?

H: I’m a pretty religious guy so I’d go back to the Garden of Eden. Niwastop from you know…juu nikungori. (I would stop them. It’s hard out here.)

What’s the most precious thing in your wardrobe?

A: My watch

H: A pair shoes that a loved one bought for me. It’s been five years but still ziko hapo zinanga’nga’na. (They’re still there, holding on.)

What made you laugh this week?

A: (Laughter) Wewe.

H: Nimeshinda na Assasin hii wiki yote so ni yeye. (I’ve spent my whole week with Assassin so, it’s him.)

Who/what is your biggest inspiration?

A: Vybz Cartel.

H: My dad. It’s because he came from a tough background and made something of himself. I’m really proud of that guy and he inspires me.
