Dominic Samson Ndigiti from Kisii County is elated that he will be participating in this edition of IAAF World U18 championships.

“I will be taking part in the 10km walking race and I am grateful to God for this talent,” he says.

Dingiti who hails from Kisii County and is a student at Kiandega High School in Nyamira developed a passion for walking race while in Standard six. He was motivated by his teachers.

The 18 year old took part in 2016 trials in Embu County where he came in third position. He attributes his poor performance at that time to his bad health.

“I am glad that I was picked to participate in this championships. I am confident that I will scoop a medal,” he added.

He says Kenya’s general performance will be outstanding since it is the host nation.

The IAAF World U18 Championships is an international event bringing together athletes from all over the world who are 17 years old or younger.
