“Dear IEBC, we need answers,” pleads Bahati as tallying delays in Mathare.
Member of Parliament hopeful and musician Kevin Bahati is urging the IEBC to announce the winner of the Mathare Parliamentary seat after tallying was delayed in the constituency on Wednesday, August 10th, after chaos disrupted the process.
The process was twice disrupted yesterday over rigging claims. First at around 6 PM when UDA agents alleged ballot boxes had been tampered with then later at 11 PM when IEBC Presiding Officer from Ngei PAG polling centre was caught trying to torch series A forms. However, tallying continued smoothly the following day after the police intervened.
Taking to social media, Bahati said, “Three days since voting happened, 21 ballot boxes tampered with. I have been waiting to be declared the winner and to be handed over the official certificate as the Mathare MP-elect.”
