Bahati loses Mathare Parliamentary seat to Anthony Oluoch

The singer was a distant third with 8,166 votes.

Kevin Kioko, popularly known as Bahati, has lost the Mathare Parliamentary seat to incumbent MP Anthony Oluoch of ODM.

Oluoch clinched the top spot with 28,098 votes followed by Ojiwa with 16,912 votes while Bahati came in third with 8,166 votes on the Jubilee party ticket.

This loss comes a day after the singer pleaded with IEBC to announce the winner, after tallying was delayed in the constituency on Wednesday, August 10th, after chaos disrupted the process.

Taking to social media, yesterday, August 11th, Bahati said, “Three days since voting happened, 21 ballot boxes tampered with. I have been waiting to be declared the winner and to be handed over the official certificate as the Mathare MP-elect.”

The MP-elect Anthony Oluoch urged all his competitors to put their differences aside so that they can for the people.

Bahati is expecting a child with wife Diana Marua.
