Jamii Bora Bank has launched a tender hub in a bid to help startups and budding entrepreneurs access both government tenders as well as those offered by private institutions.
The hub will give real-time updates on available tenders besides offering finance and training to entrepreneurs and start-ups who are awarded the tenders.
With the government allocating 30 percent of all public tenders to the youth, women and persons living with disabilities, many are yet to take advantage of the opportunity due to limited financial and information access.
It is with this view that Jamii Bora Bank has started a tender hub that will provide startup and budding entrepreneurs real time information about available government tenders.
The bank’s CEO Samuel Kimani says the entrepreneurs will also be trained on the tendering processes to effectively participate in tendering processes.
Kimani says funds have been set aside to finance entrepreneurs to bid and finance the tenders.
He urged financial institutions to work with small businesses in efforts to promote financial inclusion.
