Baringo residents mourn following death of three

By Rose Gakuo

Residents in Baragoi Samburu County are once again in mourning following the killing of three people including a 14 year old boy who were shot dead by suspected cattle rustlers.

The incident has triggered a blame game in which security officers are been accused of laxity which appears to be reversing the gains made in stabilizing the regions security which for years has been in jeopardy at the hands of cattle rustlers.

The incident has also sparked queries on the rising political tensions with a section of leaders attributing the rise of insecurity to the polls.

Led by area Member of Parliament Alois Lentoimaga, the residents of Baringo are calling for deployment of more officers in the region to keep the peace.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to a mortuary in Maralal town for a postmortem.
