Body of woman who perished in helicopter crash recovered

A search operation is still underway at the Lake Nakuru to retrieve the wreckage of a helicopter that crashed into the lake last month killing five people on board.

The National Disaster Operation Center (NDOC) is coordinating the multi-agency operation.

NDOC said some of the challenges being encountered by the search teams are poor visibility in the lake due to dirty water, wide search area and bad weather, among others.

On Friday, divers from the Kenya Navy and Sonko Rescue Team recovered the body of a female passenger bringing to three the number of bodies recovered from the scene since the accident happened.

Two bodies are still missing after more than four weeks of search.
