Softie the film premieres trailer on YouTube
Softie, a film by Sam Soko detailing the life of Boniface Mwangi as a human rights activist, political activist and hopeful.
The trailer dropped on the Film’s official youtube channel only 20 hours ago but the film itself premiered at the Sundance Film festival earlier this year. As such, the film documentary won “The World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award for Editing” at the Sundance Film Festival 2020.
The film, yet to premiere in Kenya and in most places around the world due to COVID-19, has already received amazing reviews from its showcase at Sundance. Among them, this review by Shadow and Act, “Softie is a grim assessment of both the cost of revolution and modern-day manhood. Women are often told that they can’t have it all when it comes to their professional and personal lives, and Softie suggests that it’s the same for men.”
