Businessman who shot 3 people at Quivers Bar arraigned in court

A businessman accused of shooting three people including a police officer has been remanded at Muthaiga police station until Wednesday.

This to allow the Court to make a ruling on the prosecution prayers to hold the suspect for 14 days to enable them complete investigations.

The suspect Dickson Njanja Mararo who presented himself to the DCI headquarters yesterday accompanied by his lawyer Cliff Ombeta was produced in court today.

According to the prosecution the incident occurred on July 2,2021 at Quiver’s Lounge along Thika Road where the suspects and his accomplices were having a drink.

The prosecution told trial Magistrate Zainab Abdul that one victim, police officer corporal Festus Musyoka is in critical condition at the Nairobi hospital while the other two victims were discharged on Monday.

The police said they are yet to carry out a forensic examination of the CCTV footage, as well as conclude investigations.

Musyoka’s lawyer Daniel Maanzo said it is too early to speculate the criminal charge to be preferred against the suspect, saying they should wait until they obtain his medical report.
