CAF bans Rayon Sport players ahead of Gor Mahia tie

The Confederations of African Football (CAF) has banned three top Rayon Sports players ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup tie against Kenyan champions Gor Mahia.

The players instigated a brawl in their last CAF Confederations Cup tie against USM Alger away in Algeria, last week.

This comes as a boost to Gor Mahia’s chances of qualifying for the quarter finals of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The three players, Yannick Mukunzi, Christ Mbondi and Kassim Ndayisenga have been also slapped with hefty fines.

Mukunzi has been fined 10,000 Dollars and handed a three match ban while Ndayisenga and Mbondi will serve a two match ban and subjected to a 5,000 Dolars fine each.

Gor Mahia will host the Rwandan team on Sunday next week at the Kasarani stadium and without the trio, ‘Kogalo’ will have an upper hand to book a ticket in the quarter finals since they only need a single point to seal qualification.
