Chebukati must call off Presidential election NASA says

National Super Alliance leaders are now calling on the under-pressure IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati to be courageous and call off the fresh presidential poll slated for Thursday.

NASA leaders who took their campaigns to Trans Nzoia maintain IEBC as currently constituted cannot be trusted with carrying out a free, fair and credible poll.

They say the last minute decision by IEBC Chief Executive Officer Ezra Chiloba to take a one month’s leave is inconsequential.

And barely 3 days to the election the fate of the October 26th poll remains a major concern in spite assurances by IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati that the election will go as planned.

NASA leaders led by flag bearer Raila Odinga, now asking Chebukati to cancel the exercise maintaining he will not participate.

They said the absence of Chiloba doesn’t matter saying the Commission can no longer guarantee for a credible poll.

Raila insists there will be no election on Thursday unless IEBC is restructured.

This he says must not be construed for a scheme to force a coalition government saying he is not interested in a nusu mkate government.

They hit out at acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i accusing him of inciting his Kisii community against Nasa supporters opposed to the polls.

NASA will now hold peaceful anti-IEBC demonstrations across the Country from Tuesday culminating in the boycott of the repeat poll on Thursday.
