China has yet again reiterated its commitment to joint efforts to slay the covid-19 disease. The country’s Foreign Affairs Minister Wang Yi emphasizing that China will stand in solidarity with other countries while offering mutual assistance to the fight against the deadly contagion.
The Chinese top diplomat noted that this is especially the case given that the COVID-19 pandemic is still spreading and the global economy is staring at the risk of recession.
“This unprecedented epidemic has made us realize deeply that the world is indeed a community with a shared future,” he said.
According to Wang, China will sustain its contribution towards global anti-epidemic efforts, even as he called for the need for support to countries in need.
Speaking during a special event of the Foreign Ministry to present Hubei Province to the world, Wang said China will adhere to the policy of opening up and cooperation, and rallying with other countries to promote the recovery of the world economy.
“China, which continues to open wider to the outside world, will further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with other countries and inject more impetus into the recovery of the global economy,” The Chinese FM said.
China vowed that Beijing will uphold multilateralism, guided by the spirit of building a community with a shared future for humanity, while adhering to the principle of extensive consultation, as well as safeguarding the international order.
It is at this point that Wang called on countries to join hands together and oppose “vaccine nationalism” campaign.
As a responsible power, Wang said China has provided anti-epidemic materials to more than 160 countries and international organizations around the world. He added that so far, the Xi Jinping administration is providing the much-needed vaccines to more than 100 countries and international organizations to aid the war against the covid-19 pandemic.
During the event themed ‘Heroic Hubei: Reborn for New Glories,’ the state councilor indicated that his country will do that given that China received support and help from many countries at the height of the fight against the covid both in Hubei and Wuhan provinces in 2020.
