Copa Coca Cola under 16 soccer tournament officially launched

The 2016 regional phase of the Copa Coca Cola under 16 soccer tournament was officially launched Tuesday and will bring together teams drawn from seven regions in the Country.

The annual event which brings together youngsters drawn from different schools to showcase their skills and talent in soccer kicked off last week with over 1000 schools expected to battle it out. Rift Valley’s Kitale Youth and Shinyalu Girls from Western were the 2014 COPA Coca-Cola under-15 national champions.

Last year, youngsters Benson Matheka and Brian Mumo were crowned the most valuable players and enjoyed a funded camp in Berlin, Germany.

The finals of the tournament will be held in Embu County in June this year.
