CORD faults government over performance

By Slyvester Ruto

Coalition for Reforms and Democracy CORD has criticized the Jubilee administration of failing to deliver the promises it had pledged in their manifesto to Kenyans three years since it ascended to power.

Speaking Saturday at a Nairobi hotel during what the opposition termed as a state of the nation address, the CORD co-principals Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula, said the government has failed to address economic, security, corruption, tribalism and social challenges bedeviling the country.

The former prime minister said President Uhuru Kenyatta’s annual State of the Nation address to parliament last month was public relation to mislead Kenyans that everything is running well and smoothly.

Raila said in the last two years the government has not constructed a single road and challenged the President to show Kenyans the 3000 kilometers of roads it has constructed in the last three years by category and region.

He said in the past three years the levels of corruption have gone up under the jubilee watch.

On their part  Kalonzo and Wetangula castigated the electoral body IEBC saying it is sowing discord in the country and called for its disbandment.
