COVID-19: Kenya records 105 new cases, 68 recoveries

Kenya has Saturday recorded 105 new COVID-19 cases out of a sample size of 2,868 tested in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of positive cases to 36,829.

The Ministry of Health through a statement said from the 105 cases, 103 are Kenyans while 2 are foreigners. 83 are male while 22 are female.

The youngest case recorded was a two-year-old infant while the oldest is a 95-year-old.

Dristibution of the cases by counties is as follows: Nairobi 33, Busia 15, Mombasa 9, Bungoma 8, Kiambu 4, Nakuru 4, Bomet 4, Garissa 4, Taita Taveta 4, Kajiado 3, Kakamega 3, Kisumu 3, Machakos 2, Meru 2, Kitui 2, Trans Nzoia 2, Murang’a  1, Nyeri 1 and Laikipia 1.

On a positive note, 68 people have recovered from the disease, 38 from the home-based care program while 30 have been discharged from various health facilities.

No fatality has been reported in the last 24 hours. Kenya’s fatality rate remains 646.
