CS Matiangi says ministry will support DPP in prosecuting cases

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi says his office will work closely with the Director of Public Prosecutions to ensure successful prosecution of cases.

Dr. Matiangi says reforms in the justice system are taking shape and the country is entering an era of transparency and accountability.

He challenged all Government agencies to complement each other for successful service delivery.

The CS made the remarks at an induction workshop for new staff at the office of the DPP.

The new officers will join the office of the DPP as it moves to increase personnel in a bid to expedite on investigations as well as prosecution.

Matiangi said Kenyans have been quick to discredit the office of the DPP for failure to effectively prosecute corruptions cases but called on other relevant bodies to support the DPP saying the fight can’t be won by one individual.

The CS said his ministry will play its role by ensuring suspected offenders are quickly arrested and investigations well conducted to ensure water tight cases.

The Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji challenged the uphold the rule of law while discharging their duties.
