The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) says they have recovered close to Ksh 6.1 million shillings from the chambers of Justices Aggrey Muchelule and Said Chitembwe who were arrested last week on bribery allegations.

In an affidavit filed by Chief Inspector Felix Karisa Banzi, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations says the search conducted in the judges chambers resulted in the recovery of 50,000 US Dollars from a lady in Justice Aggrey Muchelule’s chambers and 7,000 US Dollars from Justice Said Chitembwe.

The officer said once investigations are finalized, appropriate action will be taken.

The Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association obtained orders barring the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the Director of Public Prosecution from arresting and recommending charges against Muchelule and Chitembwe pending hearing and determination of the case.

The case will be mentioned on the 18th of October this year.
