Defining moment for Harambee Starlets

By Kennedy Langat

The national women football team, Harambee Starlets will face Algeria Tuesday afternoon in an Africa Cup Of nation’s return match at the Moi International sports center Kasarani.

Starlets will go into the match buoyed by a 2-0 away goal advantage after their 2-2 draw in the first leg match away in Algeria.

The Kenyan queens need a barren draw or a 1-1 draw  so as to enhance their chance of  booking a place in the 2016 women Africa cup of nations set for December where 8 teams will participate.

Harambee Starlets head coach David Ouma has stuck with a majority of the players who featured in the first leg.

He is confident the team will qualify for the finals of African Women Cup of Nations.

Captain Anne Aluoch who missed the first leg has been drafted in to take up Elizabeth Ambogo’s place who suffered a hip injury in the first leg encounter in Algiers.

Elsewhere, English premier league side Manchester City will host Paris St- Germain at the Etihad stadium Tuesday evening in one of two Eurpoean Champions league quarter finals matches.

Manchester City will miss the services of the injured captain Vincent Kompany as they seek a place in the last four.

Kompany, has not played since suffering a calf injury as City drew 0-0 against Dynamo Kiev in March to reach the last eight.

City and French champions PSG drew 2-2 in the first leg in Paris.
