Desisa, Rotich to defend titles at 2016 Boston marathon

By David Karanja

Kenya’s Caroline Rotich and Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia have confirmed they will defend their Boston Marathon titles on the 18th of April 2016.

According to the organizers, last year the chase for the men’s title was aggressive with a deep international field of Olympic medalists, world champions, and World Marathon Majors winners all battling out for top honors.

However, Desisa emerged the winner ahead of Yemane Tsegay and Wilson Chebet to become the only Ethiopian to have won the race twice.

Caroline Rotich bagged the women’s title, relegating Mare Dibaba and Buzunesh Deba to second and third positions respectively.
