Detectives recover fake currencies in building along Kiboko road

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation early Tuesday morning raided a building along Kiboko/Mukoma road in Nairobi recovering millions of fake currencies.

The detectives recovered US Dollars, Zambian Kwachas and over 100 kilograms of fake Gold nuggets.

According to DCI, eight suspects, among them four foreign nationals and four Kenyans were arrested. The eight are expected to be arraigned in court Tuesday.

The arrest comes barely hours after DCI detectives last evening arrested six suspects aged between 26 and 64 at an apartment in Kilimani, Nairobi.

The suspects were found with over 50 kilograms of suspected Gold nuggets and Gold Export documents.

The suspects were four Rwandese nationals and two Kenyans.

Meanwhile, three Police officers stationed at Kamukunji and Railways police stations were yesterday arrested by DCI Detectives for masquerading as Flying Squad officers.

The three Constables are Oliver Tambo Mayabi, Kelvin Andanje and Dancun Wasike. During the arrest DCI Detectives managed to recover handcuffs and other items.
