Dominican Republic beats Kenya in FIVB Volleyball Grand Prix

National women volleyball team “Malkia Strikers” ended their final round one match of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Group two with a loss after falling to Dominican Republic; who defeated them by three straight sets Sunday night in Tucuman, Argentina.

The Dominican Republic side humbled Kenya 25-21 in the first set, 25-21, and 25-20 in the second and third sets respectively.

Bethania De La Cruz De Peña was the top scorer with 12 points.

Kenya did not win any of its first round matches after it went down to hosts Argentina in their opening encounter last Friday before been humbled by Bulgaria three sets to nil on Saturday night.

Malkia Strikers will now travel to Poland where they will face Argentina for a second time, hosts Poland and Puerto Rico who defeated them in the Olympic Qualifiers.
