DP Ruto welcomes Raila Odinga to the Hustler Movement

Deputy President William Ruto says he is happy that the hustler narrative has become a conversation even among leaders who had demeaned it.

Reacting to a local newspaper headline alluding that Ruto and ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga are fighting for control of voters at the bottom of the food chain, Ruto went out of his way to welcome Raila to the Hustler movement.

“My friend Tinga, welcome to Hustler movement. The conversation here is about the economy not ethnicity, empowerment not power, jobs not positions, creating opportunity/wealth not sharing, citizens not leaders by changing policy not the constitution to bottom up not top down economics,” He wrote on his official Twitter account.

This even as he met with the Board of Trustees of Al Mustaqbaal Chairman Islamic University-Garissa led by local MP Aden Duale, Vice Chancellor Dr Ali Tawane, Dadaab MP Dr. Mohamed Dahir and other Muslim leaders at Karen, Nairobi to discuss the expansion of the institution.

“We applaud religious institutions for their friendship and co-operation on social causes such as health and education. We will keep building this partnership so as to boost people’s lifestyle and advance cohesion in our country,” He said.
