The Egypt Football Association (EFA) has commended Morocco for the best organisation of the ongoing African Cup of Nations tournament.
Through a letter addressed to the Royal Moroccan Football President Fouzi Lekjaa, EFA said the tournament’s success reflected the “great level of football development” Morocco has reached in staging major sporting events, describing it as a benchmark for future competitions in the continent.
The Egyptian Football Association also emphasised the kind welcome given to the Egyptian national team and its delegation, a much-appreciated act that demonstrates the strength of the human and historical bonds between the Egyptian and Moroccan peoples.
Apart from the competition itself, the message emphasises Morocco’s recognition as a pivotal force in African and Arab football, demonstrating its capacity to offer a contemporary and inspiring organisational model.
Additionally, the Egyptian federation expressed its confidence in the sustained partnership between Morocco and Egypt, with the goal of both countries working together to elevate the status of Arab football on both the African and international stages.
The Cameroonian football chief Samuel Etoo also heaped praises on Morocco’s organisation of this year’s AFCON.
