Embattled Mwendwa charged on four counts, granted bail


The suspended Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa has been charged on four counts including defrauding the Football Kenya Federation of 29 million shillings.

Mwendwa who was charged before Senior Principal Magistrate Eunice Nyutu was granted a cash bail of 10 million shillings and an alternative bond of 15 million shillings and banned from visiting the FKF offices.

Mwendwa spent the night  in police custody and was charged on four counts, including fraudulently acquiring public property estimated at 7.5 million shillings and conspiracy to defraud FKF 29.5 million shillings.

Mwendwa pleaded not guilty and was granted a cash bail of 10 million shillings  and an alternative bond of 15 million, ordered to deposit his passport, forbidden from accessing FKF offices, barred from engaging the media on the matter before the court.
