Students transitioning to Junior High School under the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) will study in Day Schools and not boarding schools.

Government spokesperson, Retired Colonel Cyrus Oguna, today said the Junior High Schools will be domiciled in existing secondary schools and not primary schools.Speaking at a Zoom meeting Oguna said over 60,000 teachers in secondary schools are getting trained ahead of the current grade 6 students transitioning to Junior High school in January 2023. Oguna said the training is meant to give more knowledge and further support to grade 6 and 7 teachers.
