Laikipia schools to reopen soon

The Chief of Defense Forces, Robert Kibochi, says schools in Laikipia will soon re-open despite recent attacks that have rendered the area insecure.

Kibochi said the government is also looking at renovating the affected schools. He spoke when he led security chiefs through various parts of the conservancy and surrounding areas to assess the security situation.

He also visited troops involved in a multi-agency security operation in Laikipia.

Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai promised additional air assets to boost the operation that has seen relative calm return to the region.
