‘Power couple’ Ronald and Ruth Karauri witness as Liverpool thrash Arsenal at Emirates to revive EPL title hopes

‘Power Couple’ as they are referred by  many, in Kenya, as both are  pilots by profession ,Ronald and Ruth Karauri,  were among the few  Kenyans who were at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening to attend  an English Premier league match pitting hosts Arsenal against Liverpool FC.

Liverpool revived their title hopes by thrashing hosts 2 goals to nil  to cut Manchester City lead at the summit of the table to just a point, thanks to 2nd half goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Ferminho.

Kenya Airways Captain Ruth Karauri  took the country by storm on  18th  of last month,  to successfully   cross-land  London’s Heathrow Airport flying a KQ Boeing 787  amidst heavy Storm of  over 70 Knots .

Ronald Karauri who was a Captain before becoming SportPesa Chief Executive officer with his wife,  were among few Kenyans who thronged the Emirates stadium on Wednesday night for the epic clash.

In his post match  comments  Karauri  reiterated on the need of all stakeholders and  the corporate world to  united   to  uplift the dwindling  football standards in Kenya .

“We need to look for partners to ensure that our young men and women get a chance to showcase their football talent on the world stage.

As I watched the Arsenal vs Liverpool game last night, I dreamt of seeing more Kenyans play in the top league and the revival of our local football to realize the dreams of many of our young sports men and women. Kasarani stadium should be busy hosting top matches. I walk the talk.
