Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Hailemariam has travelled back home after a successful three-day state visit in Kenya.
The visiting Prime Minister was seen off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by his President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The plane carrying the Ethiopian leader and his delegation departed Jomo Kenyatta International Airport shortly after 5.30 p.m. Before his departure, a detachment of the Kenya Airforce played the national anthems of the two countries.
Also present at the airport were Cabinet Secretaries Joseph Nkaissery and Adan Mohammed, and Chief of Defence Forces Samson Mwathethe, National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and other senior government officials.
During his visit, the two nations agreed to strengthen their strategic alliance going back decades.
The two leaders also addressed Kenya-Ethiopia business forum and urged the business community to take advantage of the special status agreement to increase trade between them.
