Former Athletics Kenya chairman Isaiah Kiplagat died Wednesday morning after a long battle with illness.
Kiplagat, served at Athletics Kenya for more than twenty years after taking the reins since the 90’s.
The long serving chairman stepped down last year only for his condition to deteriorate. Family members confirmed that the former President of Athletics Kenya and former Managing Director of Post Bank passed on at 10:30am at a Nairobi hospital.
In November last year, IAAF Ethics Commission suspended, from all offices or positions in Athletics Kenya or the IAAF; Athletics Kenya president Isaiah Kiplagat, vice president David Okeyo and former Athletics Kenya treasurer Joseph Kinyua.
The chairman said each individual was suspended for a period of 180 days starting on 30th of November 2015, pending investigation of complaints made against them and evidence and information which was received by the IAAF Ethics Commission.
