Governor calls for prosecution of leaders inciting communities

Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal has called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to investigate increased cases of incitement in Samburu North Sub- County.

The calls come after a recent attack at Loruko village where one herder was shot dead and another seriously injured before armed cattle rustlers drove away with fifty two goats.

The incident has brought to the fore the level of insecurity in the region where some leaders are even accused of fueling animosity among residents.

Lenolkulal says the County Government will support the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to ensure those behind the attacks are prosecuted.

Lenolkulal visited the affected families accompanied by Samburu Woman Representative Maison Leshomo who urged the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government to deploy more security forces to the affected region.

Residents of Loruko Village have also called on the government to assist them recover their stolen livestock
