Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s Personal Assistant Michael Oyamo has been remanded until 8th October pending ruling on his bail application.
Oyama was arraigned in court Wednesday and charged with the murder of Sharon Otieno.
Appearing before Justice Jessie Lessit, Oyamo pleaded not guilty to the charges and sought the court to release him on bail pending trial.
The prosecution had requested for more time to go through the court documents and file their response.
Mr Oyamo, who was among the first suspects to be arrested has spent 14 days in custody awaiting the conclusion of investigations by the prosecution.
When the charge sheet was read Oyamo denied any involvement with the murder of Rongo university student Sharon Otieno who was found dead in Kodera forest in Homa Bay.
Through his lawyers, Oyamo then pleaded with the court to release him on bond pending the hearing and determination of his case.
However, his application set for Wednesday afternoon was pushed to to allowthe prosecution more time to go through the court documents and file their response.
Oyamo was charged barely hours after his boss denied similar charges and pleaded to be released on bail.
The court directed Obado to be remanded at the Industrial Area prison until Thursday this week when the court is set to make a determination on his bail application.
