Nairobi County residents will now be able to use all public toilets in the County free of charge.
This is after Governor Mike Sonko directed that access to all public toilets within the city be free.
Speaking at Charter Hall on Wednesday where he launched a Sh357 million bursary fund, Sonko said City residents should not be charged to use public toilets.
He said it is unfair to charge voters of Nairobi to use a public facility.
There are 68 public toilets in Nairobi, 17 of which are within the central business district where City Hall receives around Sh6.2 million in revenue every year.
Elsewhere, an audit report conducted by the Directorate of Personnel Management in the Office of the President says Vihiga County government employed seven underage people as workers between 2013 and 2017.
The audit said the minors were receiving salaries of over Sh25,000.
The report released by Vihiga Governor Wilber Ottichilo, also said the minors changed details of vital documents to disguise as adults and continued to earn pay using forged identities. The minors also shared identity card numbers and bank accounts with adults.
The 100-page report recommends recovery of salaries paid to the minors and wants senior officials involved in the scam to be reprimanded.
