Reigning tag of war national champions GSU, will represent Kenya in the annual World championship slated for April next year in Netherlands.
The paramilitary men qualified for the global event after winning the national league ahead of Laikipia County and Nairobi County who settled for second and third positions respectively.
GSU bagged a massive number of trophies this season which included the Chairman’s Cup, Mulu Mutisya Memorial Cup, Labor Day cup and the coveted Inter Police service championship trophy.
While receiving trophies from the triumphant Tag of war team and the newly crowned men’s volleyball national champions GSU, Commandant GSU Stephen Chelimo pledged his support to the teams in upcoming assignments.
Chelimo was quick to acknowledge the efforts put by the volleyball team which recently reclaimed the national title from archrivals Kenya Prisons.
Despite winning the national title the volleyball team registered mixed results in different tournaments winning the KVF challenge Cup, Mutai Cup and the Governors Cup in Nandi County.
GSU will represent the country in the Africa men’s volleyball club championship alongside former national champions Kenya Prisons next year in Cairo, Egypt.
