GSU lost their second consecutive match in the ongoing Africa men’s volleyball club championship after falling by three straight sets to Setif of Algeria in Cairo, Egypt.
The 11 time national champions fought hard before losing the first set 25-23. The Paramilitary men lost the remaining sets 25-17 and 25-18 respectively.
In other matches, El Geish of Egypt labored before trouncing powerhouse Esperance of Tunisia by three sets to two while Ahly Beni Ghazi of Libya defeated Fanar of Algeria by the same margin.
The Kenyan side is pooled in the group of death alongside Esperance of Tunisia, El Geish of Egypt, CSVB of Cameroon, Autoridade of Mozambique, and Setif of Algeria.
GSU finished 12th overall in the 2015 edition held in Tunisia. Twenty four teams are taking part in this year’s tournament.
