National women soccer team Harambee Starlets intensified their training ahead of Olympics qualifier match against Shepolopolo of Zambia this Friday at Kasarani stadium.
The Zambian team arrived in Nairobi on Wednesday morning and is set to hold a training session at the Kasarani stadium on Thursday.
Starlets will be seeking to continue their run of brilliance when they take on Shepolopolo of Zambia in the 2020 Olympics qualifier match in front of home fans.
The David Ouma led side has been in camp for almost three weeks in preparations for the match.
The winner of the tie on aggregate will go through to the final qualifying round, where either of Ivory Coast or Cameroon lies in wait.
The final winner will gain automatic qualification to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, while the loser on aggregate will get a lifeline in a playoff against Chile, who came second in the South American Confederation’s (CONMEBOL) qualifying tournament.
Meanwhile, the Football Kenya Federation has moved to waive gate charges for the Friday’s game.
The match with the second leg set to be played on November 11, 2019 in Lusaka.
