The Ministry of National Treasury and planning is set to conduct a headcount for all pensioners and their dependents countrywide in an exercise aimed cleansing the pension payroll.
The mandatory exercise to be undertaken by the Pensions Department which will cover beneficiaries of the Public Pensions Schemes will commence on Monday 11th February 2019 to Friday 3rd May 2019 at Huduma centres countrywide.
Beneficiaries of the public pension schemes who include Parliamentarians, Military Personnel, Judicial Officers, Civil Servants, Government Teachers and the Disciplined Services will be required to avail themselves at Huduma centres nearest to them for scrutiny of their details.
The objective of the exercise is to update the pensions data base to ascertain its accuracy and integrity for improved service delivery.
According to a notice published in local dailies Beneficiaries will be required to present original and copies of National ID Card or Passport, Bank Plate or ATM Card in the case of pensioners while dependents and guardians must submit National ID Card/Passport, Birth Certificates of Deceased Pensioner’s Children and Death Certificates of Deceased Pensioners.
In coast region the exercise will kick off on Monday 11th of February to Friday 22nd February 2019. Rift Valley huduma centres will be open for the exercise between Monday 11th March to Friday 22nd March 2019, Central region from Monday 25th February to Friday 8th March 2019, Eastern Monday 25th March to Friday 5th April 2019, North Eastern between Monday 8th of April to Friday 19th April 2019.
Those in Western region will be required to avail themselves from Monday 22nd April to Friday 3rd May 2019, Nyanza Monday 22nd April to Friday 3rd May 2019, while those in Nairobi will go through the process from Monday 11th February to Friday 3rd May 2019.
