Health Ministry records 101 more Covid-19 cases

The Health Ministry has recorded 101 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday from a sample size of 1,286 tested in the last 24 hours.

The total number of confirmed cases in Kenya now stands at 339,987 from a cumulative test of 3,926,981 conducted since March.

The youngest is aged two years while the oldest is 83 years old with 48 being male while 53 are female.

35 patients have recovered from the disease, all from the Home based Care and Isolation program. This pushes the total recoveries to 333,435 of whom 279,815 are from the Home Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,620 are from various health facilities across the country.

No fatalities were recorded during the period under review so the cumulative fatalities remain at 5,678.

According to Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Wafula, 16 patients currently admitted in our health facilities, while 858 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

Vaccination Programme

A total of 22,612,427 vaccines have been administered across the country. Of these, 18,277,826 are doses administered to the adult population (18 years and above).

An additional 2,706,799 are doses administered to those between 12 to below 18 years while 1,627,802 are booster doses.

The total number of vaccines administered in the last 24 hours is 7,770 while the total number of people fully vaccinated over the last 24 hours stand at 2,543. Proportion of adults fully vaccinated was 36.3%.

“The Government is working towards vaccinating a targeted population of 27,246,033 people,” the Health CS said.
