My Nutty Delights is an Instagram page run by Cheptoo Chirchir. Her page incorporates plant-based ingredients like nuts, to create healthy meals. Cheptoo started her Instagram page as a way for her to inspire herself and others to lose weight and embrace a wholesome diet. In addition to posting healthy meals, Cheptoo also posts fitness videos.

If you’re up for trying a few recipes at home before you embrace the lifestyle, here are two recipes for breakfast and lunch you should try.


Fruity Oatmeal


  1. Oats
  2. Berries/strawberries/cherries
  3. Almond Milk
  4. Sliced nuts
  5. Sliced Banana
  6. Flaked coconut

How to prepare

  1. Bring 1 cup of water to boil
  2. Add 1 cup of almond milk
  3. Add oats
  4. Cook oats over low heat for about 15 minutes
  5. Serve oats in a bowl and garnish with the berries, banana and flaked coconut
Tumeric rice beans and avocado


  1. Rice
  2. Boiled beans
  3. Sliced Avocado
  4. Tomatoes
  5. Dhania (Coriander)
  6. Oil
  7. Desired spices

How to prepare

Tumeric Rice            –Melt oil in sufuria, add onions (add garlic if so desired)

– Add turmeric, salt and stir

– Add 2 cups of water

– Bring water to boil

– Add 1 cup of rice

– Bring to boil

– Stir rice and serve

Beans                       – Melt oil in separate sufuria and add onions

– Add sliced tomatoes

– Stir until tomatoes are cooked

– Add salt and desired spices

– Add boiled beans

– Stir and serve

Put rice, beans and avocado on plate and serve.
