Hellen Obiri dazzles at Nyayo sets sight on ‘missing’ Olympics medal

World  5,000m champion Hellen obiri says she is pressured to win an Olympic medal.

Obiri registered  15minutes 06.36 seconds to win the women’s 5,000m race during the World  Athletics continental gold tour at Nyayo National stadium.

Obiri revealed that after  the 2021 Olympic games in Japan she will be switching to road races,but only after bagging  a medal that’s missing from her  cabinet.

‘’The Olympic medal is the only medal am missing so I have the pressure to achieve so that when I win it I will  switch to road running, and you you know time is really moving fast’’, said Obiri.

World 10,000m bronze winner Agnes Tirop finished second  in 15 minutes.06.71 seconds.

Tirop who battled Obiri shoulder to shoulder and matched her sprint to sprint before fading with metres to go said she will be using  next year’s cross country season to preapare for the Olympic games.

‘’I wanted to win but the kick let me diown towards the end,am going to work on it ahead of the Olympic games’’, Tirop remarked.

World 5,000m silver winner Maragaret Kemboi wound up third after posting 15 minutes 11.11 seconds.
