How to keep your makeup from running

Preserving your makeup while it’s on your face is not complex.

Brown foundation smudges on your shirt, running mascara and smeared eyeliner are not a good look. Whenever you beat your face for the day the aim is to make sure it stays on perfectly and for you to look polished throughout the day. This isn’t always the case due to perspiration and even rain. You will find that summer and makeup do not mix. Not to worry though, you can avoid all the makeup mishaps and keep your product from running if you follow these steps:

Use an oil-control moisturizer

Find a moisturizing cream that controls the oil on your face and lasts for at least eight hours of the day. Apply the moisturizer as the very first step.

A primer is the most important component when it comes to keeping your makeup from sweating off. This is because a primer’s main purpose is to hold on to whatever product you put on your face. Go for a mattifying or smoothing one.

Opt for a light foundation

If your foundation is heavy, then it is more likely to melt and slip off. During the warm months, you can switch your foundation for BB cream of a tinted moisturizer.

Go for waterproof brands

Make the best of waterproof maquillage such as waterproof eyeliners and mascaras.

Avoid oil-based makeup

How to know that your makeup is oil based is to look at the ingredients. Oil based cosmetics formulae have ingredients such as mineral oil argan oil, paraffin oil, petroleum oil, almond oil, sesame oil, avocado oil, and coconut oil.

Set it

Set your maquillage with a powder or setting spray. These are designed to be used after you’ve applied all of your beauty products to lock in your makeup look.

When you start to sweat, reach for some blotting paper to dab on the area. This removes the sweat or oil without smudging your makeup. If in a pinch, you can use tissue paper.
