‘Tis the season to be jolly, and fashionable as Hugo Boss opens a new store at Westgate a month after Spanish Luxury brand Mango

The German luxury apparel brand, Hugo Boss, opened its first store in Kenya on Monday at the Westgate mall as it moves to tap the growing demand for designer clothing among Nairobi’s middle class.

With this store opening, Kenya becomes the 27th African country to host a Hugo Boss store.

“We have started with men’s line as the anchor in Kenya as we test the market. We will introduce the ladies line and Hugo for the young trendy customers as we get to better understand the Kenyan market,” Mr Pfeiffer, the team leader for sales in direct markets, said.

“Boss offers sophisticated, modern collections focused on quality and design. Boss Menswear has reached icon status for its tailoring, but offers more than the perfect suit,” he also added.

Hugo Boss clothing has been retailing in Kenya through their local partners the Fazal Group for over 20 years. In addition to selling the male clothing line, the Fazal Group and Little Red also sell the female line namely Boss Lady.

The collection on offer at the store will feature casual and athleisure pieces boasting a wardrobe fit for a fast-paced modern lifestyle.

There’s a growing appetite for luxury brands in Kenya, buoyed by increased income and awareness through social media and international media. Hugo Boss is not the only luxury brand in the country. More and more luxury brands are flocking to the country. Hugo Boss will not be the only luxury apparel brand open at the Westgate Mall, Spanish luxury brand Mango is currently also open at the Mall. Late last year, Turkish Brand LC Waikiki opened a store at Two Rivers and so did Austrian luxury brand Swarovski.
