Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Polycarp Igathe has reiterated his commitment to enhanced service delivery if elected in the upcoming August 9 polls.
Speaking during a stakeholder meeting with the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), the Nairobi city county has for long been captured by cartels and officials focused on enriching themselves at the expense of the people.
“I’m aware Nairobi City County has been in the capture of cartels. We have a few people who have become way too greedy. If we want to see any development we must clean the entire system,” he stated
Igathe said he will purpose to form an all inclusive County government by ensuring active public participation in the formation of policies and legislation.
“We are going to reform and create a fit for purpose organization to enable essential service delivery. I’m not going to recreate anything, I will take the best that has been done in the past and improve on it to make it sustainable,” he stated
“You cannot give this job to someone without the required competency,” he added
The gubernatorial hopeful further promised to introduce a single business permit with various payment options for the business community in Nairobi.
