The 7th round of Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) is currently underway in Laikipia County.
27 drivers have been enlisted for Saturday’s outing in the scenic Nanyuki Loldaiga and Batian view stages.
The rally was flagged off on Saturday morning by Laikipia County Governor Ndiritu Muriithi flanked by KMSF Chairman Phineas Kimathi and KCB RBM Central Kenneth Toroitich.
“We are very excited to have the rally here, I thank KCB for their immense support in motorsport over the years. I wish you the competitors all the best”, said Ndiritu.
KCB Regional Business Manager Central Kenneth Toroitich lauded the drivers ahead of the outing adding that KCB Bank is committed towards talent development.
“KCB Bank is committed to nurturing of sports talent in the country, we are looking forward to a greater rallying year”, said Toroitich.
Ian Duncan is back with his iconic Mitsubishi pick up for Saturday’s outing navigated by Tim Jessop. The drivers will tackle Loldaiga stage then head to Batian view. The two stages will be repeated twice as drivers crisscross the vast Laikipia County.
Onkai Rai, Manvir Brayan, Baldev Chager, Tejveer Rai, Ina Duncan and Carl Tundo will be the main drivers to watch out for during today’s rally.
The drivers will cover a total CS distance 159 Kms and a total distance of 283 Kms ahead of the prize giving ceremony at Batian View at 5pm.
Rally fans will have s scenic view at the 2.3 Kms stage. The longest distance will be 49kms. The drivers will be battling for points in various classes
