Political Parties that submitted their list of aspirants to participate in the nomination process without complying with the guidelines issued by the electoral commission will be blocked from proceeding with the primaries from 13th to 26th of April.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission says that 5 political parties that had submitted their list of aspirants by Wednesday April 5th did not followed the guidelines and have until Monday noon to resubmit amended lists.
IEBC had gazetted April 5th as the last day for Political Parties to submit their list of aspirants to participate in party primaries for gazettement.
The Commission says the parties failed to provide information in a format that would enable the commission gazettee the aspirants.
The Electoral Commission says the Political Parties have until noon on Monday 10th of April to resubmit the amended list.
Parties that will fail to comply with the format for submitting lists of Aspirants will be blocked from holding nominations.
IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati maintains that no political party would be allowed to hold primaries before the commission gazettes the list of aspirants.
